Lamar Jackson shoved a Bills fan who stupidly swatted at him

Buffalo Bills fans were not having a good time at their 2025 NFL season opener. A rematch of last year's 27-25 Divisional Round playoff win over the Baltimore Ravens had swung decisively in the visitors' favor. DeAndre Hopkins, making his Ravens debut 13 years into a Hall of Very Good career, had just made a ludicrous touchdown catch to give Baltimore a 34-19 lead with roughly a minute to go in the third quarter.

That led to an impromptu Ravens' celebration parade around the corner of the end zone. In the process, Baltimore's skill players ventured within arm's length of Bills fans. And one certain Bills fan did the one thing you're absolutely not allowed to do. He swatted Hopkins atop his helmet, then did the same to quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson was not having any of it.

While Hopkins shrugged off his helmet slap and smiled through it, Jackson turned and shoved the fan back into his seat. Mike Tirico, calling the game for NBC, attempted to temper his response with a "obviously, both in the wrong there, but you can't push players." Cris Collinsworth also tried to measure his comments with "I'm not excusing, there's no way you're allowed to go after fans in the stands, almost no matter what happens, but sometimes that gets a little ridiculous too."

To Collinsworth's credit, the situation was ridiculous. Don't touch players unless they're coming by for a high five or Lambeau leaping their way into the stands. And at absolutely no point should you slap them in the head or else you run the risk of being tossed back into your seat like you were shot out of a cannon, much like the imbecile who got tossed Sunday night.

There were no mentions as to whether said fan was ejected from the game or will be dealt with by Bills security going forward. If any news breaks, this story will be updated.

Update: Yeah that dummy got tossed.
