April in Preview: What’s happening at the UofA

The Office of Sustainability is hosting a Cruise to Campus Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Attendees can ride their bikes to the Old Main Lawn to get complimentary beverages and breakfast. 

The Office of Career Connections is hosting a health and human professions career fair in the Arkansas Union Ballroom from 2-4 p.m. Attendees will be able to meet with employers in the health and human professions looking for employees.  

The Honors College is hosting Pre-Med and Pizza on the Patio at Hotz Honor Hall. Attendees can hear advice from advisers and upperclassmen on the MCAT and med school applications.

University Programs is hosting a Performance Art Makeup Workshop in Arkansas Union 507 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.. Attendees can learn about makeup and drag. The event is welcoming to exploring self-expression.

April 3

The Honors College is hosting a Recess: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month where attendees can celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month from 3-4 p.m. in the Gearhart Lounge.

April in Preview: What’s happening at the UofA

The Office of Sustainability is hosting a Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Programs Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Union Mall. It is a celebration of outdoor engagement and attendees can connect with the outdoor community.

The Movement Dance company is hosting a Jazz Movement experience at Nadine Baum Studios on West Spring Street from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Attendees can get a 45-minute Jazz dance lesson. 

April 4

Association for Computing Machinery is hosting the HogHacks UARK Association for Computing Machinery Hackathon 2025 in JB Hunt. It is a 24-hour Hackathon where teams will create a project according to the theme announced at the event. There will be free food, mini games and prizes. 

April 5

African Students Organization is hosting an African Gala Night at the Fayetteville Town Center from 6-9 p.m. Attendees can celebrate African culture through community and cuisine. The event is open to the public. 

The Nepalese Student Association is hosting a Nepali Game Night: A Fun Evening of Cultural Games and Socializing from 5-9 p.m. at HPER 311 and 316. Attendees will be able to play a variety of Nepali Games from Ludo, Chess, card games, Langur Burja and experience Nepali culture and traditions. 

April 7

UA Swing Kids is hosting Monday Swing Dancing at Pomfret! The event will take place in Pomfret Hall’s Great Room from 7-8:30 p.m. Attendees can have a free lesson in swing dancing.

April 8

Faulkner Performing Arts Center and the Multicultural Center are hosting a No Tears Project Presented by the UA Multicultural Center from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. The No Tears project is a jazz-inflected collective with a civil-rights-inspired repertoire and the concert is to celebrate the release of their new record “Humanitics.”

Economic Forum is hosting an Econ Forum Speaker Series: Matuschka Lindo Briggs at the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development from 5-6 p.m. Attendees can hear from guest speaker Matuschka Lindo Briggs, regional executive of the Little Rock Branch of the Federal Reserve in St. Louis, MO in room 103. Dinner will be provided. 

April 16 

Substance Education, Assessment and Recovery is hosting Spring Carnival from 2-5 p.m. Attendees will experience an environment geared toward alcohol education among other information in honor of Alcohol Awareness Month. 

Counseling and Psychological Services is hosting a Let’s Talk outside of the Arkansas Union food court from 1:15- 2:45 p.m. Attendees can have brief informal consultations with a mental health clinician.

April 17

University Programs is hosting Spring Carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Union Mall. Attendees can celebrate the semester with funnel cakes and rides. 

April 23

University Programs is hosting Fayetteville Fusion Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Union Mall. Attendees can get to know businesses from the northwest Arkansas area. 

April 24

CAPS is hosting CAPS’ Play Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Arkansas Union International Connections Lounge. Attendees can enjoy some relaxing self-care activities as the semester comes to a close and learn about CAPS’ services and resources.
